GoNOLA Recommends: 5 Things to do in New Orleans this Weekend
While the Carnival Season started a while back on Twelfth Night, Mardi Gras is really starting to get into gear this weekend in the French Quarter. Many locals treat Saturday night's Krewe du Vieux as kind of a primer for the string of parades, flying beads, and general revelry in the streets that will follow for the next two weeks. So gear up, get out to the Quarter, wear comfortable shoes, and catch some mind blowing music on the way.

101 Runners - This Mardi Gras Indian/New Orleans funk conglomerate will take the stage at One Eyed Jack's with Big Chief Monk Boudreaux around 9 pm. Expect a wild show that will rival the barely contained insanity of the Krewe de Vieux rolling by outside.

Hurricane Gustav and hurricanes in general, why . . . ?
Why do people think the government and/or other entities are responsible for doing everything. I live in a tornado state and sure don't wait for or expect the government to take me to their basement! I am referring to a news story currently concerning the long waits in line to get on an evacuation bus. One New Orleans woman is quoted as yelling at a reporter "They're not taking care of us down here!!" No one cares for me when we have flash floods, storms, tornadoes, etc. How 'bout gettin on your own bus days ago and gettin' the #@%& out.

to all those who think I am going to get a lump of coal, can I have your name adress and phone number to admit you into The old lady's place for the crazy please.ANd to the one that he found the shoes don't it was from an old Santa costume.Guess what when I found my presents the cards were all in my parents handwriting.ANd can you please stop saying that he can be in two or three places at once he is HUMAN he can't do that.St Nick is a person and plus he got the name because he used to give everybody presents.Does anyone want to explain to me how a 600lbs MAN can slide down a chimney and live this long.I am only saying this because I learned the hard way,I used to believe in him but then one year I saw my parents putting the presents under the tree.I AM ONLY ASKING THIS BECAUSE I DON'T WANT ANY OTHER CHILD TO FEEL HOW I FELT

How will the Dallas Cowboys Fare in the 2009-2010 NFL season?
Post-Draft Prediction(they drafted all over the place)
I'll Say 10-6 and make the playoffs.
@ Tampa Bay(-3) L Dallas Cowboys have weapons, so does Tampa Bay and Tampa Bay Will Take this one, but barely. Dallas has chemistry issues but Tampa Bay will not due to a new system. They are like the 1992 cowboys, with younger talent with great epectations. Dallas will overlook TB.
VS New York Giants(-10) L The Giants will come in strong, as projected. Dallas will be defeated in their new stadium and go 0-2.
VS Carolina(+7) Dallas will get their first win of the season. Carolina is terribly overrated, not because of the playoff loss though. Nearly all their games were close games and they allowed too many points. The team will stay the same and will barely lose to the cowboys.
@ Denver(+21) Denver has way too much issues and at the rate of losing their best qb and possibly their best WR, they will be a terrible team and Dallas Should win this one in big fashion.
@ Kansas City(+17) Kansas City is an up and coming team but will not be able to stop the cowboys. With the loss of Tony Gonzalez, Kansas City does not stand a chance against the Dallas Defense.
Bye
VS Atlanta(+10) Atlanta, many people think is a loss actually will be a win since Atlanta doesnt have the talent and not enough weapons to ware out the cowboys. Besides, this is Ryan's second year so expect him to go through the sophomore slump. Turner is the only great weapon and Dallas is good stopping single-weapon teams! But take Dallas with this one by 10 points or less.
VS Seattle(+13) Seattle will return to graeater form, however, their offense is no match to Dallas's Defense and vise versa. Dallas Will Win!
@Philadelphia(+1) Dallas will remember the 44-6 rout they suffered through and will contest philly for a win. I believe they will have the strength to beat them, but just by a hair.
@ Green Bay(even) Dallas will come into this game evenly matched with Green Bay on both talent and quarter back, however...this game is a tossup but I'll say Green Bay will get their revenge on Dallas. This one will be a loss.
VS Washington(+4) Washington is not strong on offense but has added strength to defense. So is Dallas. However, Dallas has the better offense with more weapons so expect Dallas to win a close game.
VS Oakland(+56) Oakland will be better but like Seattle, will not match up to Dallas and will get the stuffing and butter knocked out of them!
@ New York Giants(Even) Dallas will get their revenge so take this one as a win. Giants had an edge earlier in the season, expect them to step down and the cowboys to step up.
VS San Diego(+14) Norv Turner Cannot Coach and San Diego will still be lackluster on both sides of the ball. They are ovverrated and will not make the playoffs! Cowboys shoud win this one!
@ New Orleans(-17) New Orleans has better chemistry and has upgraded their offense and defense. Expect the cowboys to be blown out in this one.
@Washington(-3) Washington will get revenge and since Washington and Dallas almost always split their series, expect washington to win but by barely.
VS Philadelphia(-21) The Eagles will get their revenge and beat the Cowboys in the end. Romo tends to choke when games matters most.
Playoffs:
@ Green Bay(+4) Green Bay will indeed be a playoff team but expect Dallas to beat them in the playoffs and Romo to win his first playoff game
@ Philadelphia(-14) Dallas does not have the chemistry to beat the eagles and will lose to them in the divisional round.

NFL FOOTBALL QUESTION?
I need some fantasy football advice.
I have Nate Washington (who recently got injured) there are reports that he might miss several games to begin the season. Would I be crazy to drop him for Josh Morgan SF (who Ive been hearing great things about latley) or Earl Bennett CHI?
Also which DEF would you start week one New Orleans they play DET or Seattle they play ST. Louis. (I have the Jets but not willing to start them against a high powered offense like the Texans)
Thanks.
