New Orleans Seafood Festival

This fall, the 4th Annual New Orleans Seafood Festival offers residents and visitors of the Big Easy a chance to sample authentic eats from local restaurant favorites. Taking place September 10th, 11th and 12th, the scintillating and scrumptious three-day seafood fest brings together the best of New Orleans cuisine for your consumption. The fun and frivolity again will occur across from Harrah's Hotel & Casino in downtown New Orleans.

When you consider the history of New Orleans, what comes to mind immediately? It's the food, the music, the architecture - each has tremendously impacted the culture of this fine city for hundreds of years. The famed restaurants in the French Quarter have brought these qualities to life, offering the finest food New Orleans is known for. Restaurants scheduled to appear include Acme Oyster House, Arnaud's, Cafe Giovanni, Drago's Seafood Restaurant, Galatoire's, Mr. B's Bistro and Red Fish Grill.

What kind of delectable treats can we expect at this year's festival? How about some classic oysters and the traditional Louisiana submarine sandwich, shrimp po'boys? You can satisfy your cravings with seafood salad and seafood boudin. Your mouth will water with the intoxicating scent of crab and crawfish cakes, shrimp pirogue and shrimp remoulade. Grilled Fish Tacos, Fried oyster tacos, ceviche and Alligator & Sausage gumbo will be on the menu as well.

Live music acts provide the background melody of soul and rock and roll to the day of culinary masterpieces. In previous years, top local groups like the Soul Rebels, Big Sam's Funky Nation, and Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk have graced the stage at the festival.

All proceeds collected at the festival go to a good cause - the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation. The Louisiana Hospitality Foundation is a non-profit organization that facilitates access to culinary education and the arts. The foundation supports the cause of health and social welfare for disadvantaged children across the state of Louisiana.
