Top 3 Desserts - Creole Delicacies of Louisiana
Long time ago, people were very busy moving and mingling together that resulted to mixtures of cooking style. Especially in Louisiana where different dishes were created and it was called Creole foods. One of their very obvious evidence of infusion is their Creole delicacies. Anyone could not afford not to taste any of them, if they have been in Louisiana. In order for you to choose which of them you want to have first, here are some sweet delicacies from Louisiana you would like to have.
1. Praline. It is the number one Creole delicacy that you would like to have when you go to Louisiana. It is considered to be a part of the family of confections made from nuts and sugar syrup. You can taste its different flavors like chocolate, rum, pineapple and many more.
Its story of how it landed to Louisiana is already known by many. Way back then, those French settlers brought this recipe to their place. They call it praline since New Orleans chefs' substituted almond with pecan during the 19th century. Pralines are usually made by mixing brown sugar, butter, and cream or buttermilk in a pot on medium-high heat. Stir it constantly, until most of the water has evaporated and wait till it reached a thick texture with a brown color. It is usually dropped by spoonfuls onto wax paper or a sheet of aluminum foil greased with butter, and left to cool
2. Pecan pie. It is the top 2 of our list which by definition it is a sweet pie made primarily of corn syrup and pecan nuts. It is popularly served at holiday meals and is also considered a specialty of Southern U.S. cuisine. Most pecan pie recipes include salt and vanilla as flavorings. Chocolate and bourbon whiskey are other popular additions to the recipe. Pecan pie is often served with whipped cream.
Since this is a Creole delicacy, it is expected to be an influence by past settlers of Louisiana. As stated in a trusted source, the French invented pecan pie soon after settling in New Orleans, after being introduced to the nut by Native Americans. It is sometimes referred to as "New Orleans pecan pie, " adding an aura of French cuisine to a home-cooked comfort food.
3. Bananas Foster. Just by name itself, we can easily identify that it is a dessert made from bananas. It is prepared together with vanilla ice cream, with the sauce made from butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, dark rum, and banana liqueur. You will cook the bananas, sugar and butter and add alcohol to ignite it. However, before the Katrina hit clear rum was used instead. Then serve the bananas and sauce over the ice cream.
In recollection, it was Paul Blange who created Bananas Foster during 1951. Its name comes from the name of his friend Richard Foster - the New Orleans Crime Commission chairman back then.
These are the top three desserts wanted by locals and foreigners who have visited Louisiana. These are available by many restaurants and shops in Louisiana.

THE CHOCOLATE CITY STRIKES AGAIN?read all about it. Whats next?
NEW ORLEANS - A judge on Friday ordered the release of up to 42 criminal defendants, saying they aren't being adequately represented by the city's financially struggling indigent defenders office, but he immediately delayed the order to mid April.
What is Judge Hunter thinking? Is he trying to make a political point?
Assistant District Attorney David Pipes said his office might appeal. He said most of the 42 defendants face drug charges, but several are charged with violent crimes, including armed robbery and sexual battery.
So some time in april he is goingto release 42 criminals some charged with drug charges but others "SEXUAL BATTERY AND ARMED ROBBERY!" There has to be a better way than just cutting them loose to re-offend,right?http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070330/ap_on_re_us/new_orleans_crime;_ylt=Aj7mtJtuyHnyBzpwA3PVwoFH2ocA
Before you take offense to the chocolate city remark listen to the racist mayor-Nagin, who won reelection last May over Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, referred obliquely to the "chocolate city" comment at the dinner and suggested that his assertion that New Orleans would once again be a majority-black city had made him a political target.
"Everybody in America started to wake up and say: 'Wait a minute. What is he doing? What is he saying? We have to make sure that this man doesn't go any further,' " Nagin told a room full of black newspaper publishers and editors at the Capital Hilton.
Referring to Landrieu, who is white, as "the golden boy," Nagin suggested his chance at reelection in the mayoral race had seemed slim because "they dispersed all of our people across 44 states with one-way tickets."
"They thought they were talking about a different kind of New Orleans," Nagin said. "They didn't realize that folks were awake, that they were paying attention."

if rappers in Texas say "Dont mess wit Texas",then why people there whin bout New Orleans crime rates in TEX?
If rappers from Texas say things like "North houston is dangerous" and "Don't fuc with Texas", why all of a sudden local people that live in cties like Houston and Dallas start sayin that the people in New Orleans have raised the crime rate and saying that people from New Orleans need 2 get out of Texas. Well, in that case. If Texas rappers say that their hood is so hard then they've probably became scared when the people in New Orleans people have came and showed them that which city is hard. And people in Texas said "Don't Mess with Texas", well looks like Texas has been messed with and it probably showed that Texas is really "SOFT"
