Since this is a Creole delicacy, it is expected to be an influence by past settlers of Louisiana. 3. Bananas Foster. Just by name itself, we can easily identify that it is a dessert made from bananas. It is prepared together with vanilla ice cream, with the sauce made from butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, dark rum, and banana liqueur. You will cook the bananas, sugar and butter and add alcohol to ignite it. However, before the Katrina hit clear rum was used instead. Then serve the bananas and sauce over the ice cream.
