Great Hotel Deals at Ellen Degeneres' Favorite Destinations!

Ellen DeGeneres just announced that she will replace Paula Abdul as a judge on American Idol, and what better way to celebrate than to take advantage of our great deals in some of Ellen's favorite destinations!

Last summer, Ellen took a European vacation and visited a few cities in Italy and France. As noted in our recent blog entries, great deals and rates are available at our Paris properties - from the intimate Touraine Opera in the heart of the city, to the Eiffel Capitol, which is roughly one kilometer away from the Eiffel Tower. If you're planning to visit Rome, check out the impressive artwork found at the Vatican Museums; from there you can reach Nova Domus Hotel & Suites on foot in five minutes.

You could also opt for a relaxing vacation in Ellen's hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. The Royal St. Charles Hotel, a stylish boutique hotel set one block from the French Quarter, boasts comfy guestrooms, a bar, exercise room, and other amenities. Another great hotel to check out is Hotel Le Cirque, which is situated in the city's Arts District. Located within easy walking distance to the Louisiana Children's Museum, Julia Street art galleries and the Louisiana Superdome, the hotel affords excellent views of more than 20 Mardi Gras parades.

On the other hand, Ellen might just celebrate at home in southern California, where pristine beaches, sizzling nightlife and popular shops make for a fine vacation destination. Hotel Erwin, formerly the Marina Pacific Hotel, has spacious rooms and suites that offer enviable ocean views; the hotel serves as an ideal base from which to explore all that Venice Beach has to offer. You might also want to shop like the California celebs and stay in Beverly Hills. The Tower Beverly Hills lies at the center of the action, even making occasional cameos in Hollywood films. You could also explore a colorful fusion of retro and contemporary Asian decor at Hotel Beverly Terrace.

A cylinder-shaped hotel in New Orleans?
I am looking for the hotel in which I stayed more than 15 years ago. When I was a student, I visited New Orleans, and stayed in a hotel. I am going there again next year, and hoping to stay in the same hotel. I remember the shape of the building. It was about 10-15 stories high, and it was a cylinder shaped building. One can see this hotel from the expressway, when driving from the airport to the city (I think it was on the left hand side)(I forgot which airport was it). Does anyone know which one it is? Can you please help me to identify this hotel? I am living in Bristol, in the UK, and do not know much about New Orleans. Thank you in advance.

Hotel in New Orleans with nice firm bed?
Hi, We are making a visit to NOLA again this year for the week between Christmas and New Years. Last year I booked us into a smaller boutique hotel with lots of charm and ambiance (or so I thought from the website) but the bed was absolutely horrible and we switched after two nights to the Monteleone. I would like to find a nice older hotel (but with working A/C) with nice firm beds. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel, chain or not, with firmer bedding?
